2 years ago a routine health check discovered I had hereditary hemochromatosis and my ferretin levels were around 100 times normal. Fortunately damage was limited to liver but I have spent the last 24 months getting regular blood letting, scans, biopsies and other unpleasant things. I have been totally exhausted! In an effort to take back some control I started going to gym and now my local church is short of runners I am going to have a crack at my first 10k run. I have never done a 10k road race before. I haven't run since secondary school. Should be interesting. I will be running for refugees.
