I am raising money to start up a Community Market project to help Frome during the current economic crisis, which will benefit the local community in Frome.
I will be joining Edventure (www.edventurefrome.org) as a student this January and will learn new skills through spending 11 weeks setting up this community enterprise.
Typically, Community Markets are simply a space for local vegetable producers and artisan makers to sell their products. The idea is - can we dream bigger than that? What would a market look like if it’s driving goal was community resilience rather than profit? What if there was a forum for a range of local charities and initiatives to gather with the community, coming together to share, mend, swap, donate, and support each other?
