On the 30th September 2016 … I received the horrendous news that my best friend Lewis had sadly passed away in a fatal car accident. The saying "brother from another mother" represents mine and Lewis relationship well - one of which would see us travel up and down the country to watch our football team - Oxford United.
On September 18th 2024 we lost Lewis`s brother, Jack at the age of 24. Jack took his life at the scene of where we lost Lewis in 2016. Jack was like Lewis in so many ways and once again leaves a long lasting pain to all of his friends, family and daughter Lacey.
Nearly 9 years on since losing Lewis I still have bad days - a sense of frustration, anger, emptiness all mixed into one bowl (my head) with a sprinkle of deep sadness that Jack felt like he didn`t have the support network to keep going.
I`ve done previous fundraisers for the Air Ambulance Service in Oxfordshire who were deployed on the night that we lost Lewis but I felt this time it was right to combine both tragic events and raise some money for Men`s mental health.
Most people in the office will know I`m fairly smart - you can normally find me in a suit and I normally get my hair cut every 3 weeks. I`ve not yet had a hair cut or my beard trimmed in 2025 - on the 15th April it`s all going to go - I`m going to be clean shaven for the first time since I was 13/14 and the top half is going to look like an Easter Egg.
