Please help me support the Winchester SALT fundraiser in the inaugural Winchester Half Marathon on Sunday 25th September!
Winchester SALT is working with Winchester City Council, the University of Winchester and others to explore the options at Bar End. In July, Winchester city councillors voted to support the most ambitious option they had in front of them. This option includes a 50m swimming pool (which can be subdivided and altered in depth) and a large sports hall. Very exciting!
Winchester SALT is co-ordinating a community fundraising effort, to help ensure that any new facilities are as good as they can be – properly equipped and with the right specification for key sports. There is an ambitious community fundraising target of £1m, and Winchester SALT aims to raise £100k of this. The 2016 Winchester Half Marathon fundraiser will be a very important contributor so YOUR EFFORTS ARE ESSENTIAL! Together, we can develop the sports facilities that Winchester needs and deserves, and get more people active and having fun.
Winchester SALT is a charitable incorporated organisation (registered charity no 1165047), and all monies raised through the Winchester Half Marathon and other events are retained in our dedicated 'community sports facilities fund'.
