We are running this project to members who are struggling to top up their pre payment meters so are offering a payment to make sure they have gas / electric. With everyone being at home we are using more energy and most single parents work to a tight budget and they are now struggling to pay for their electric or gas.

Due to Covid we have a lot of members in need. Our single parents are already vulnerable within society but Covid has increased this for many reasons. A lot of our single parents rely on maintenance payments but due to lock down and other reasons the non resident parent has had to stop payments. Some of our single parents have gone on to furlough so a very tight budget has become even tighter. Due to delays in payments from new benefit claims / government schemes our members are struggling

We are helping people daily with this and we need to help more, single parents are being pushed into severe poverty, our demand for this service is increasing
