I am running the Great North Run for a second time for the Type 1 Kidz project that I work with. I never thought I would run one Great North Run, never mind a second! Any and all support is really appreciated, to keep me running and to support the work of this fab project. Children and young people will take a lead in deciding how money will be spent to support their project, which you can read about more below.
Type 1 Kidz works with children and young people with Type 1 diabetes and their families across the North East and North Cumbria. The project provides opportunities for children and young people to try new activities in a safe environment; for young people and families to meet others in the same situation and support each other; and most importantly puts the voices of children and young people with Type 1 at the centre of the project. We work closely with the NENC CYP Diabetes Network and all of the clinical teams in the region, supporting dialogue and change within diabetes care.
