Hey! Eniola here.
So here's the situation:
I currently mentor a young person from 'The Reasons Why Foundation' who is trying to rebuild his life after serving some time in prison. A lot of the challenges that he, and others like him, face are extensive and long-standing.
Young people like him are dealing with problems such as mental health disorders, homelessness, unemployment, addiction, abandonment from their families, and little to no education, just to name a few. Issues like these are not easy to deal with and unfortunately there are no short term fixes and without the right support in place, a life of crime and breaking the law is often what they often to.
If you know me personally, you'll know that helping and supporting people, especially disadvantaged and vulnerable young people, is in my DNA. This is why I've decided to take on the three peaks challenge in order to support the foundation in raising funds so the amazing work that they're doing to help ex-offenders can continue because everybody deserves a chance to learn how to change.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes place on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and I aim to complete it in under 12 hours, without moaning or whinging ONCE. The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km) and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent.
I would really appreciate your support during this challenge. Anything you could donate would be incredibly helpful to the work of the foundation and I'd be extremely grateful. If you'd like to find out more about the work of The Reasons Why Foundation, their website is www.therwf.org/
Thank you so much!
