ASBESTOS CANCER (MESOTHELIOMA) RESEARCH UNDERFUNDED IN THE UK

The UK has the highest incidence of mesothelioma in the world, with more than 5000 people diagnosed each year. Asbestos related cancer has previously been viewed as “an old man’s disease” however the numbers of cases continues to RISE. Tragically, we are now seeing this disease affecting more and more younger men and women. Mesothelioma in the chest (pleural mesothelioma) is more common than mesothelioma in the abdomen (peritoneal mesothelioma).
Mesothelioma takes a long time to develop. It’s normal for people to get the first symptoms 30 to 40 years after they were first exposed to asbestos. It is also very difficult to diagnose until too late.
There is currently NO KNOWN CURE.
Research and access to clinical trials is improving but desperately needs funding to save lives...
Mesothelioma must end. It must be erased.
Erase Meso is a voluntary community committed to raising funds to research a cure for mesothelioma.
ERASE MESO OBJECTIVES
1. Fund scientific research into mesothelioma to help find a cure or at least a way of maintaining this disease.
2. Raise awareness of mesothelioma.
