Expanding the Nightstop service outside of Brighton and Hove to allow us to provide this support to young people across East and West Sussex. Sussex Nightstop would also like to provide longer term emergency housing, of up to 3 weeks, for young people while they access housing advice and look into their housing options.
Why they need our serviceThis project encourages local people to support young people in their community, supporting young people in housing crisis, preventing youth homelessness across Sussex. This will provide volutneering opportunities, brining like minded people in the community together, help you to make use of the spare room in your home and provide you with a sense of giving back and supporting others. Providing longer-term placements will allow young people the time needed to arrange alternative housing.
Plan and expected resultsVolunteering opportunites will be provided across Sussex, for hosts, drivers and befrienders. Local young people will be supported while in housing crisis. This will help to prevent youth homelessness as well as bringing communities together.
