When I asked my friend Karen, who works relentlessly for PramDepot, what they needed most, she said it was for people to fundraise. So, I decided to rise to this challenge through another... my first 5k run.
What is PramDepot?
This very special organisation recycles baby clothes and equipment and passes them on to Mums with no recourse to public funds... they do not receive a Government Maternity Grant and most live on less than £50 per week.
I can often be seen in my Noddy car delivering to Mums in temporary accommodation or in women's refuges. They usually do not know what will happen to them after their babies are born. Seeing the relief on their faces in knowing that they at least have all the essentials for their newborns is so worthwhile.

Why 5k?
I am by no means a natural runner, and don't usually even attempt to run for a bus... So to run 5k feels like a very big challenge indeed. I have downloaded the 'Couch to 5k app' and am steadily building up to be able to run for 30 minutes without stopping... something I never thought possible.
I have entered a 5k run at the Olympic Park in Stratford on Sunday 29 April and would really appreciate your support... either in person on the day to cheer me along, or by way of sponsorship... every little helps.
£5 would pay for nappies.
£10 would pay for a new mattress for a Moses basket.
£20 would pay for what a mum needs for herself when having a baby in hospital.
£50 would pay for much needed storage costs.
Thank you for your support x
PS Some of you may only know me as 'Wendy' and may be more surprised at me changing my name than the fact that I'm planning on running 5k, but that's another story!
