I am going to be cycling 100km (62.5 miles) on Saturday 29 September to raise money for the Big Red Bus Club in Charlton, London. The BRBC is a stay and play centre that provides a great resource for families with pre-school children in Charlton. The club has indoor and outdoor space for children to play in, including a garden created by volunteers and children, and lots of toys, both indoor and out. The BRBC is also somewhere where parents can meet other parents and enjoy a bit of adult company while their children are playing happily in a safe place: as anyone who has children will testify, this is something very valuable indeed. If anyone wants to learn more, the BRBC's website is: http://www.thebigredbusclub.com/ My family and I have all benefited from the BRBC over the last five years, and now I am undertaking this challenge to give something back. Unlike other stay and plays, the BRBC is free to all users, and is totally reliant on volunteers, fundraising, and charitable grants. Although I cycle to work 3 days a week, this is still going to be a big challenge for me: 7 commutes in one ride! And if the distance wasn't challenge enough, I will be doing the ride on a bike with only one gear and no freewheel, so I'll be pedalling every metre of the 100k. So please dig deep, and sponsor me. Thanks very much in advance for your support, Steve.
