Hi,
I'm Maddie, and after my increasing interest in Feminism I came across the scandal of Female Genital Mutilation. It seems absolutely astonishing to me that such a harmful practice is still so pervasive when it holds no direct religious meaning. No one, and in this case no girl, should have to undergo such traumatic harm for the sake of tradition.
So I've decided to run The Bristol 10K 2015 on the 31st of May to raise money for Integrate Bristol, an absolutely pioneering charity which raises FGM awareness through campaigning as well as training teachers and police officers alike on how to deal with cases of FGM.
Our aim is to end this practice within a generation. This is so important for us all, so hopefully you can help me out!
