I have decided to take on this mad challenge for Stepping Stones in memory of my beautiful son, Oliver. As Stepping Stones has supported both Oliver and our family through both wonderful, and sad times.
Oliver was born in 2002 with Down Syndrome. From the age of 6-8 weeks until he started school, he attended Stepping Stones. I cannot begin to explain how helpful and supportive the team at Stepping Stones were to both Oliver and us as a family.
Sadly, Oliver passed away in 2008 after battling with Leukaemia for almost 2 years. I became a member of the Management Committee shortly after Oliver's passing and today Stepping Stones remains a very important part of our lives.
Stepping Stones is partly funded by Wiltshire Council, however, each year they have to raise in excess of £50,000 to enable them to continue to provide care and support to children with additional needs/disabilities living in West Wiltshire. Please help me to help Stepping Stones to continue with their invaluable work.
Ps. I cannot believe I am going to throw myself out of an aeroplane!!! I'm not sure what Oliver would make of it!!
