We hope to provide a 6'X6' garden shed for gardening tools and potting etc. on each of the 24 plots. The sheds would be apex roof and fitted with gutters to collect water. We plan to install a water butt for each shed to ensure that plotholders are not totally reliant on mains water. We plan post and wire boundaries to the 24 plots to help plotholders with planning layouts. We plan to install 6 raised beds for the less able plotholders. Finally we hope to provide a BBQ area with a seat.
Why they need our serviceWe have successfully completed all the infra-structure works for the Community Garden Plots. The fit-out stage of the Community Garden Plots is essential to the successful completion of the project. Now we need to raise funds to complete the fit-out. Also the fit-out facilities will be of great assistance to the plotholders and further support the full potential of the project into the long term future.
Plan and expected results1. As well as containing gardening tools we see the garden sheds as a social base for our plotholders and this will encourage greater social inclusion. 2. Water butts fed off garden sheds will conserve water and help the environment into the long term. 3. Post and wire boundaries will assist with good housekeeping and help to avoid misunderstandings. 4. Raised beds will be of great assistance to our older/less able plotholders. 5. A seat and BBQ will be great for the social aspect of the project
