Celebrate a Legacy and Support the Arts: A Tribute to Flip Fraser
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Flip Fraser's passing—an influential figure remembered as the brilliant creator of 'Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame'. His legacy continues to inspire the generations that follow him.
On 25th October, the Black Hero’s Foundation will present 'The Story of Flip Fraser: A Windrush Story' at The Shaw Theater. This play, written by Flip’s widow, Joyce, narrates the captivating journey of Flip's early days in Jamaica to his influential role in London where he moved aged 16 and eventually became the pioneering editor of The Voice newspaper and the creator of 'Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame', encapsulating 5,000 years of Black History in a single night of theatre.
Your support is crucial for us to bring this production to life.
Flip Fraser's legacy is essential for both honouring the past and enlightening the present. As the creator and editor of "The Voice," the UK's first national black newspaper, Flip significantly amplified the voices of the Black community, highlighting their achievements and concerns. His contributions, including co-founding the Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame, celebrate the often-overlooked contributions of Black individuals in various fields. These narratives serve as powerful educational tools, promoting a more inclusive historical understanding and breaking down stereotypes. For the Black community, especially the youth, Fraser's work offers a source of pride, motivation, and a strengthened cultural identity, fostering a sense of belonging and inspiring future generations. Additionally, by challenging existing narratives and fostering dialogue on race, equality, and justice, these stories can drive meaningful social change.
We need your donations to allow us to bring Flip's story to the stage.

Any donation would be incredibly powerful in helping to bring Flip's story to life.

Thank you.
