Focus Sleepout for St. Petroc's

For the third consecutive year, the Focus team will be supporting St. Petroc's Society by spending one cold November's night, sleeping out under the stars at The Eden Project. We'd really appreciate your help in raising money to fund the Society's amazing work, providing accommodation, support, advice, training and resettlement services to single homeless people in Cornwall. Last year, we raised over £350. This year, our aim is to raise over £500. In the grand scheme of things £500 is a small amount, but it can make a big difference to those who have no choice but to sleep out every night. Having personally taken part in the Sleepout for the first time last year, I can honestly say, I still have only the merest glimpse of what life must be like to endure that every evening. Yes, I shivered throughout the night, yes, I barely slept; but I also had a warm meal, several layers of warm clothes and plenty of good company. The next morning, we went straight to work in our warm cosy office. By the end of the day, we were broken. I can't imagine what it would be like to go back and do it all again the next evening. In fact, thinking about it, we must be mad to go back and do it again even a year later. It is of course, completely worthwhile. It's a tough time of year to try and raise money for charities like St. Petroc's, as thoughts turn to the festive season, buying gifts for loved ones and stocking the cupboards. But, it's precisely this time of year when they need our support the most. Please, donate whatever you can afford, (even the tiniest amount), to help us achieve our target and make transformational differences to the lives of Cornwall's homeless. Thank you!
