Food Bank provides basic food and other items for ordinary people who are switching benefits or waiting for benefits and have several weeks when they do not have enough money to buy food or essentials.

There is an increasing number of people falling into this bracket of poverty across Sheffield. S6 Food Bank (Under Trussell Trust), of which Sheffield Jesus Centre is a branch, as well as providing essential food, provides an opportunity for these desperate people to talk. This takes place over refreshments in a relaxed environment when they can be listened to and supported by caring volunteers.

We need funds for much appreciated refreshments (drinks & cake) during the Food Bank sessions. We need to have spare supplies of items that we do not get enough of via Supermarket collections and other donations of food. We also currently need to purchase shuttering to protect and secure the food we store. Your donation will help improve our service to those genuinely on the poverty line.
