Ladies and gents of the Railway this is a group hug aimed at Lucy Patterson. A Train Manager contacted the Society with some details about Lucy’s crappy year. After a brief chat with Lucy she accepted our offer of some kindness but in typical Lucy style she's redirecting it to her very significant other.
These are Lucy’s wordsabout her recent experiences:
I've had urgent Gallstone surgery. Unfortunately the diagnosis of various conditions including seriously erratic blood pressure, depression, idiopathic Intra-cranial hypertension, papilladema have complicated my recovery.
Wrong diagnosis of appendicitis, pheochromocytoma, brain tumours and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis caused major delays and complications for the operation that was initially needed. Some of which are still on going but, with treatment are manageable.
The required Surgery was performed in mid November. Three courses of antibiotics an abscess later and thankfully I am now well along the road to recovery.
I am delighted to be resuming my job role as a Train Manager in the new year after catching up with with all my job related training.
I've really missed you all and can't wait to see you.
So there it is, my year has been pretty eventful, I shan't go on about it but it really has taught me that my family is so precious and my husband is pure gold.
I was really touched to be informed that a T.M had contacted Riff Raff & suggested that work colleagues would appreciate a way to support me at this time. I never thought I would be at the centre of one of their campaigns but when the society asked me how they could help me. The only thing that I truly wanted was to say thankyou to my husband for supporting me in every way through my illness's and I want to celebrate our 10 year anniversary by taking him away on special break.
Thankyou to anyone that is kind enough to donate towards this. I really am blown away that any of you would think of me.
