Wild Things aims to provide a rolling program of Forest School and Earth Education programs at Bestwood Country Park in Nottinghamshire, and at sites in Derbyshire. We also aim to establish a tree planting project in Derbyshire with strong educational and conservation principles.
Why they need our serviceTo face the environmental challenges ahead people will need to build a relationship with the natural world, understand it's basic ecological processes, be able to directly participate, and develop the practical, social, and communication skills required. Many of the communities we work with do not have the access to nature and structured experiences there that can enable them to do this.
Plan and expected resultsWild Things will continue to target groups that we feel will benefit the most from increased contact with the natural world. We will provide programs that aim to increase the ecological litracy of it's participants and increase their confidence, self esteme and communication skills. We aim to work with around 1000 children a year, and establish our tree planting project within 3 to 4 years.
