Freddie and Rosie are running the Leeds Mini Run on 11 July this year and the next day I will be running the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K. It's fair to say I will feel challenged to run 10K but the biggest challenge will be for Freddie to run his race. He may struggle but we will be there with him helping and encouraging him all the way. Life is like that for Freddie, he makes his targets eventually but with lots of help and encouragement from everyone around him and when he does reach them they mean the world to us.
Sunshine and Smiles is our local group for down syndrome where we feel very much a part of their family. The group offers a high level of service and support for families and we feel very much a part of a wonderful network. As a family it's somewhere we can go and feel we belong. Freddie has had some great days out, trips to the theatre, dance workshops, football coaching, concerts and the more crucial things like speech and language sessions. Rosie is also very much included and gets sibling support.
