With support from volunteer Tutor Nicola Smith, children and adults alike can take advantage of this free support service. Nicola helps people with reading and writing difficulties and is qualified to support in this area. She specializes in supporting people with dyslexia. With support from Riverside Housing these sessions have benefitted from a wealth of educational resources needed to support our community. More resources are always required and with your support this could continue.
Why they need our serviceThe Langley Estate has lower than national average educational attainment and skill levels Via our work club sessions we come into contact with a lot of people feeling left behind and isolated because of their reading and writing difficulties. We aim to remove barriers and offer a well rounded service so that many areas can be tackled at once. Having this session is crucial and having Nicola on hand who does many hours per week all on a voluntary basis is fantastic!
Plan and expected resultsOver 30 local people per year benefit from one to one weekly sessions to support their reading and writing.
