This is a user led club supporting adults with learning disabilities to make and sustain friendships in their community. The Club puts on 160 events annually and to date over 800 adults with learning disabilities have attended with about 450 regular members.

Why they need our service

This is a necessary project as many people with learning disabilities face social isolation and do not have the skills to make friendships on their own, or feel safe in the community when going out. Many still experience hate crime and feel uncomfortable in a public setting.

Plan and expected results

The project supports members to feel socially included in their community, make friendships, improved their independent living skills, feel safer in their community, feel more confident, have improved health and wellbeing - and more.
