Camp Mohawk is an amazing multi-functional day centre for special needs children, set in 5 acres of beautiful countryside just outside Wargrave, Berkshire. We're planning a visit, with children on the autistic spectrum plus their siblings and parents, in Spring 2014. We provide transport to Wargrave and back and refreshments during the day. 80 children enjoyed this trip with us in 2012, even though it rained the whole time! Why they need our serviceCamp Mohawk offers lots of activities, facilities and natural space to encourage special needs children to play, socialise and learn in a secure and caring environment. Every year we try to offer this trip to disadvantaged local families with a child on the autistic spectrum. It's a happy, stimulating day for the children and a chance for their parents to take time out from the demands of specialist childcare. We know how much the children and their families appreciate time spent at Camp Mohawk.
Plan and expected results50 children on the autistic spectrum, and their siblings, will be able to sample a whole range of exciting activities and learning experiences. They can enjoy Camp Mohawk's heated outdoor pool, sensory rooms, art room, outdoor play areas, wildlife area and sensory garden. Meanwhile their parents will be able to take a break in the relaxing surroundings of Camp Mohawk, knowing that their children are happy and secure in the care of Camp Mohawk's dedicated staff team.
