Lisa’s Grand to Grand

My fundraising runs for RSVP have seen me previously raising over £6,000 and running: - 100 miles (all in one go) in 2014. - 250km (155 mile) 7 day self supported race in Iceland, in 2016. - 200 miles crossing the country (all in one go), from Southport to Hornsea, in 2017. This race sees an even bigger challenge, a 7 day 170 mile race in the Grand Canyon, with over 18,000 feet of ascent, some challenging but stunning terrain and intense heat, all while carrying everything I need on my back (minus the tent. I also get topped up with water as I go from checkpoint to checkpoint.) I’m bold for survivors of abuse to show that ‘I believe you’ in a world where so many don’t and to give the message that we are all more capable than we give ourselves credit for. I used to come absolute last at cross country at school, so I truly know and live this. I wasn’t going to set up a fundraising page as everyone has generously donated before on my runs, and on the runs of friends who have also raised money for RSVP. However since so many people have asked me to, and since RSVP is 40 in November, here it is. Last year RSVP supported over 7,000 children and adults and this funding will specifically be used to fund counselling hours, to help drive down the time that people currently wait for our counselling, which at its worse can be 11 months. This is something which we have to change. It’s far too long. Your thoughtfulness and donations will help people, traumatised after sexual abuse, to feel that the world actually does have some kind people in it. THANK YOU X Ps.
