I was once a sporty chap, playing for all the school teams with my wiry frame. Then with teenagehood came pizza, beers and big gigs, medium gigs and floor gigs. Exercise became a distant memory but the fulfillment, joy and a whole new world of music became the most exciting thing I'd ever seen.
15 years on, I'm putting my drumsticks to the test and doing a half marathon (21km) on an elliptical machine at Wavelengths in Deptford.
I'm raising funds for Stay Up Late (and Gig Buddies), a charity which promotes full and active social lives for people with learning disabilities. I want to help encourage and equip people who are less able to attend gigs alone, to experience what has so amply contributed to our lives.
