Support the Gerry Anderson Music Bursary: Empower the Next Generation of Musicians
The family of Gerry Anderson has launched a campaign to raise funds for the Gerry Anderson Music Bursary to support upcoming musicians as they establish themselves in the industry. In doing so, we are proud to partner with the Oh Yeah Music Centre, a music hub and charity known for its commitment to nurturing and supporting local talent.
We established the Gerry Anderson Music Bursary to honour Gerry’s passion for music and his commitment to nurturing talent. Join us in celebrating Gerry’s rich legacy in Radio, TV and Music as we mark the 10th anniversary of his passing. Be part of our celebration - by donating to this bursary, you can make a significant difference in the lives of aspiring musicians, helping them kickstart and sustain their careers and giving them the support they need to follow their dreams.
Your donation will provide vital resources for young artists, ensuring they can access education, instruments, and opportunities for growth. Gerry believed in the transformative power of music and the importance of supporting emerging talent. Let’s continue his mission by making a meaningful impact on the lives of future musicians.
"My Dad, Gerry, was a musician before his career took off on radio and television," shared his son, David Anderson. "We believe this bursary is a perfect tribute to his legacy. He faced the same challenges as any aspiring musician and dedicated himself to supporting and uplifting the next generation of talent."
"After hearing Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol's heartfelt plea on the BBC for more arts funding, we felt compelled to act. In response, we established the Gerry Anderson Music Bursary in partnership with the Oh Yeah Centre. This initiative allows us to honour Dad's passion and continue his work, a decade after his passing."
