We have been running a project to collect the stories of people who have lived or worked here. CATCH 13 will be a festival of performance pieces based on these stories, using local people and groups including our own drama group, telling the community about the lives of the residents, the people who built the cottages and the things that happened here. The performance will include drama, dance, music, arts & crafts to depict the stories and the changing era's of the site.

Why they need our service

The Cottage Homes where we are based was opened in 1894 as an orphanage. They will soon be converted into homes for sale. The site has always had a caring role for both disabled and non disabled people,as a refuge, home, dwelling. The people of Fazakerley are used to the buildings but not many know its history. This site is a very important part of Fazakerley, it was here long before most, if not all,of the building here now. Local people need to know about it, before it changes irrevocably.

Plan and expected results

We hope through this project to: Help the disadvantaged through community projects. to help the less able. to support the Arts to promote the inclusive aspect of the performance within the local community to increase the knowledge of local people about the area they live in. Improve the health & well being of local people through community involvement, increase social skills, support the involvement of volunteers, and promote opportunties for creativity and engagement for local people.
