Recently I joined up with Martin on The Riff Raff Monday night Soup walk. It was a really humbling experience. The soup is important but the company and conversation even more so. I've had a pretty tough year but meeting people who are facing ongoing hardship really opened my eyes. I have vowed to lead a Wednesday project in response to hearing the major charities don't have much of a presence in town on a Wednesday. The lovely Janine Weaver and The Manchester Piccadilly cleaning team have started their own soup collection bucket and have vowed to support me. Martin suggested rather than just go out and buy the gear to set up I should create this page so we can buy a new big soup pan as a collective - OUR pan - for the people on the streets of OUR city. If you could spare a couple of quid a new pan is £79 and I also need a ladle, Serving gear and an initial soup stash. I feel this project would be really effective for the rest of the winter period. Please contact me if you'd like to be involved as I will set up a rota as it is best to go out in pairs.
Thanks for your support
