Thank you for taking the time to visit my Sponsorship page.
On 9th/10th September, I’m attempting to walk 100km along the Thames Path in one go!! I’ll be starting in Putney and then will keep walking until I arrive at Henley (no idea what time of the night/early hours/next day that will be 😊!) This walk will be in memory of my dear Dad as it will be almost a year to the day that he left us. I’d like to use this challenge to raise money for Music24 again because they are such a special charity. Even though they were initially there as support for my Dad (and brilliantly so), they are still available as support for my Mum, should she need it.
Music24 is a local community-based music charity that builds strong communities through music therapy and they also provide ongoing support - not only to adults with learning difficulties, mental health conditions, dementia etc but also for their carers. When my Dad was alive and suffering from Alzheimer’s, my parents used to regularly attend these music sessions, where he came to life and enjoyed taking part/dancing around to the music. The organisers who run these groups are amazing too, so positive and supportive.
As this is a memory walk – I wanted to double the distance I’ve previously achieved to make this even more of a challenge for me. I would love to raise some money for Music24 as a thank you for all the support they gave to my parents and secondly to help them continue to support other families too.
Any donations would be gratefully received and Gift Aid (if you qualify). I’ve also self-funded my entry again, so all donations will go directly to Music24.
Thank you and take care
Gina
