Girlguiding in South Woodham Ferrers needs to replace its existing HQ. The new building will be a replacement for an old wooden structure first donated to us 28 years ago by Trenthams Ltd upon completion of the major works and infrastructure of the town. Our current building has an internal framework which is rotting away and the concrete base and brick supporting plinth is collapsing causing the building to trist and warp.

South Woodham Ferrers has a population of 20,000 and supports a very healthy membership in Girlguiding. We have 9 units with girl members ranging from age 5 to 18. Units meet weekly and therefore our HQ is in use every week in term time Monday to Thursday. The aim of guiding is to help girls and young women develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world.

With a new HQ we hope to secure the continuance of Girlguiding in South Woodham Ferrers in a safe and secure environment.
