Jack, a university student in Sheffield who heard that we were fundraising to extend our work to help young people with their mental health issues.Wanting to help, he appealed to friends and family to sponsor him to shave his long hair off and raised £700, surpassing his target of £300. Inspired by Jack, and impressed with what one determined person can achieve to help others, we set ourselves a challenge to 'Add a Zero' and turn Jack's £700 into £7000 over the coming months.
In aid of this great campaign I will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 8th April 2018.
AN UPDATE 07/03
After weeks of training and running a Half Marathon in March I have pushed training too hard and have developed Patella Tendonitis in both of my knees.
Gutted doesn't even come close to how I feel and up until yesterday I was prepared to push through the pain. However my physio has alerted me of the long term damage I could do to my knees and has told me not to run.
FORTUNATELY!!
I Have been training with my girlfriend Sam and she has kindly offered to run it on behalf on Interchange.
Sam (26) is a final yeat PhD student studying Pyschology in Sheffield, and has been training very hard for her first ever Half Marathon. She is very much aware of the great work Interchange do and is more than happy to rise to the challenge.
She has saved the day, and is a fantastic replacement!
Thanks for the support
