After nearly 2 years of delays due to Covid-19, I am finally able to do my first marathon!
On April 10th 2022, I’ll be running/walking/crying the 26.2 miles (42.2km) around the city of Brighton in honour of Survivors’ Network’s phenomenal work which supports survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
Based in Sussex, the charity supports people affected by sexual violence at any point in their life. They run groups, counselling services, advocacy, and also campaign for more awareness through training and social media.
Survivors Network have also partnered on research that looks at specific support needs of the trans/TNBI community, and recently released a great piece of research/resource on ways we can look to accommodate this. https://survivorsnetwork.org.uk/resource/tnbi-group-report/
Please please donate if you are able too - every penny and pound helps. Do share on socials/with pals too. I’m turning 30 a fortnight after the race, so please direct any treats or energy here - and I look forward to celebrating once I’ve recovered! :)
