Great North Run

On 11th September I am doing The Great North Run. Eeeeek! It's something that I have wanted to do for a while, I started running about 4 years ago, Stanhope Strollers (a local running group) advertised a begginers couch 2 5k, I signed up and never looked back 🏃‍♀️ I have made so many new friends in this group and would encourage anyone thinking of doing it to come along, we meet at the Dales Centre carpark every Tuesday night at 6pm. If I can run anyone can.

I chose to run for Hug in a Bag because it is a fabulous charity that supports local people who are diagnosed with Breast Cancer. My beautful work colleague and friend Julie Armstrong has bravely fought her way through this twice with the support of her friends, family and amazing charity. I work at The Weardale Practice in Stanhope and as a team over the years we have tried to raise as much as we possibly can for Hug in a Bag. Lesley Richardson has been our chief fundraiser, organising many brilliant events over the years. 

I would be so grateful if you could help me raise a little bit more, this will certainly be my biggest challenge to date. I have done a few organised runs over the years but never a half marathon! I have recently upped my game, I try to get out 3 times a week so if you see me running around the Dale looking extremely red faced give me a wave 👋
