Some of you may know that I work at Home-Start Portsmouth. I've worked here for almost 5 years and was a volunteer before that.

I hate running but I love Home-Start, so I'm going to run for 10 miles on Sunday 20th October in an attempt to raise some funds.

Parenting is hard, it's wonderful in so many ways, but it's such a huge change in your life and we support families when they're findng it tough. Our trained volunteers support families in their home, they run free stay and play sessions in the city and our staff support families in Family Hubs and through parenting groups. I hear so many stories every day which makes me so proud of all our volunteers and staff here. Your donation helps us do the 'extra's' for families which make a real diffence to their lives.

My training has not been as 'extensive' as I would have liked it to have been, but I will get through the 10 miles and make it to the end! I know times are tough and anything you can donate is hugely appreciated! It will help me get through the last few miles of the course!
