Team Fundraisers
Mencap Sport believes that people with a learning disability should have the same opportunities to participate, enjoy and excel in sport at all levels. Physical activity can make a fundamental difference to persons quality of life, So in order to encourage this,Trainees & Staff from Greenlight will be taking part in the 3 mile FunRun/Walk at The Belfast City Marathon on Monday the 2nd of May 2016. We have decided to do this to not only fund-raise for Mencap and ourselves but to encourage our trainees to take ownership of their their own health and well being, Let The Training Commence!!. ‘Localgiving are providing us with a match fund pot of £500 so any donations up to that point will be doubled!
The Money raised will help to to provide real and meaningful work and employment experiences to enable people with a learning disability to enhance and develop their self confidence, skills and talents through new opportunities, responsibilities, and training for work and life, in a creative team and community environment. We do this by:
•Recycling Textiles, Clothes and Aluminium
•Charity and Seasonal Shop (Retail Opportunities)
•Horticulture and Space To Grow Project
•Catering and Hospitality.
