I have been helping a fantastic little charity in Leeds that supports the families and children impacted by Down syndrome.
The charity aims to improve the lives and opportunities for children and young people with Down syndrome.
They offer speech and language therapy, regular groups and activities, individual support and advocacy for families, as well as raising awareness and challenging preconceptions in the wider community.
They are able to achieve this by establishing links with hospitals, health and education professionals and connecting with other related charities.
Set up by a small group of families, their desire to grow the support they can offer to anyone impacted takes time, effort and inevitably money. That is where I start running, and you can help by making any donation you can.
Thanks for taking to time to read this, and even more thanks if you can make a donation.
By the way: the Localgiving platform may be new to you and it may mean you need to enter your details that you already have nicely to hand on Just Giving etc. BUT, the charity will get more of your donation so it is worth the effort. A few extra key strokes from you, for me to run 13+ miles, and the charity being able to help a few more children - OK guilt trip over!!
