Hadrian`s Wall 84 miles on 57 year old knees.
I`m not too proud to admit that a few years ago I was lucky enough to get some help from the wonderful people at MIND.
With the inevitability of ever increasing pressure on the NHS over the coming years and the sad fact that mental health seems to be the last in the queue for funding we are going to need charities like MIND to take up an awful lot of the slack.
I know, like me, many of my facebook friends have lost friends and family to suicide caused, often, by the desperation of feeling that there was no way to turn. Nobody to share the load, nobody to help.
In rural areas like here isolation can be a real threat to wellbeing and with the huge pressures many of us will face in the coming years charities like MIND are going to need all the help they can get to help people through.
So, accompanied by my son Ben, and with the help of ibuprofen I`m going to drag my sorry backside 84 miles along Hadrian`s Wall from Wallsend in Newcastle to Bowness on Solway, West of Carlisle starting on 1st of August to see if we can raise a few quid to help.
I really do appreciate how tough it is for many at the moment but if you feel you can help it would be much appreciated. Don't forget gift aid if you can.
Ben & I are paying all our own costs. Fuel, camp sites etc etc so every penny raised will go where its needed to Mid & North Powys Mind.
