On 13 October 2019, we will hold a Fundraiser Event for the Hamro BajeBajai Project. In the coming year, we aim to hold three more fund raising events. The Hamro BajeBajai Project is designed to give both Nepalese elderlies and young adults a chance to get to know each other and understand the world (or in this case, the UK) as they see it.

We're a group of young adults that recognise the gap between the young and the old within the Nepalese community living in the UK. The young, having been born and raised here don't always have the time to learn the Nepalese language and rarely do they even know much about the country they come from. At the same time, the older generation of Nepalese people that have recently moved to the UK often face difficulties doing day to day activities - for instance, researches show that these people have trouble going for their appointments at Job Centers or the GPs due to the language barrier.

By connecting the two generations, we aim to provide support to the older generation while giving the younger generation a platform to learn more about their language, culture and heritage. The pilot programme will run from October - December, and we will officially launch the Befriending and Mentorship Programme in January 2020.
