My name is Jon Whitfield and I have cerebral palsy.  I had a carer called Darren Eggleston who sadly contracted mesothelioma , a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer. Which is linked to  exposure to asbestos  Darren sadly recently lost his battle with cancer which is why I have chosen to undergo this challenge  Darren supported me for around 6 years with my needs and I have a huge amount of respect for his care and encouragement in achieving the lifestyle I am enjoying.  He played a huge part in my studies to achieve level 2 Anatomy and Physiology as part of my journey to becoming a personal trainer
One part of Darren’s legacy to me is the motivation to achieve level 3 and to show the world that disability should and can be embraced by everyone.  I am raising money in his memory by completing a marathon on the Hand Bike so please donate if you can to this worthy cause and to thank Darren for his input into my life and many others.
