I'll be running 10k at the Great Manchester Run for the Salford Central Foodbank, a fantastic charity that helps families in the community referred during times of crisis, and those living on the edge, facing a daily reality of hunger and poverty.
Over 1 million emergency supplies of meals were provided in the UK last year, and the record number of people coming to use food banks is sadly still increasing. (Trussell Trust)
This is a national shame, and food banks are really up against it, running short of food aid, tampons, toiletries and basic essentials people need in a crisis and deserve to live with some dignity.
Please give what you can, even a couple of quid will help towards the great work they do.
