When Jen and I lost our twin boys, Harry and Oliver, on the 11th November last year our world crumbled around us and we lost our future in a heartbeat.
Had it not been for the compassion, guidance and counselling we received from Petals our ongoing recovery from this devastating loss would have been even more difficult.
Sadly, every year, over 12,000 parents in the UK are grief-stricken by the tragic loss of their babies. Hundreds more suffer miscarriage of their pregnancy. This results in many parents struggling to cope with grief, trauma, depression, fear, anger, frustration and resentment.
Petals charity provides a specialised counselling service in Cambridgeshire, and parts of Suffolk and North Essex. Fundraising projects continue to be a focus for Petals with plans to initially expand this successful service across East Anglia and the Home Counties, with the intention to be operating nationally by 2018.
I will be undertaking the ‘Classic’ 13.5 mile Three Counties Walk, to the point where Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex meet, in the hope of raising as much as I can for this deserving charity in memory of our boys.
Your generosity can provide the following:
- £40 will fund a counselling session for an individual or couple
- £100 pays for a health professional to attend a 'Petals Awareness' training day
- £240 will fund six counselling sessions for an individual or couple
