Hi! My name is Harry Russell and I am a 24 year old. Environmental engineer. I'm originally from Manchester but I have lived in Bristol for the last 6 years as I came here for University. I got involved in running after I graduated from University initially to get fit where I completed the Forrest Dean Spring Half Maration last April. It was an amazing achievement for me and made me want to step up to a bigger challenge that I could tick off the bucket list - and that's when I decided to run the Schnieder Electric Marathon De Paris. I chose this marathon as Paris is a city I have always wanted to visit and as my sister lives in France I thought it would be a great way to coincide the trip. The training is going to plan! Having run 20 miles before Christmas and with a break over Christmas, I'm all set - well getting there! I decided to fundraise for the marathon as I thought it would be a great opportunity to give something back and would be extra motivation to complete the marathon as opposed to just the personal benefit. I chose Babbasa to fundraise for as I saw a lot of people whilst at school with a lot of challenges and not being able to access the opportunities that everyone should have. I also lived in St Pauls during my time at University and can really see the importance of organisations like Babbasa have in inner city Bristol. They're a Bristol-based Social Enterprise that sets out to support the professional aspirations of young people, irrespective of their background. They provide accredited training, mentoring schemes, recruitment services and community events. To find out more, take a look at their website for more information; http://www.babbasa.byep.org.uk So please, sponsor whatever you can to make sure that young people from Inner City Bristol have the same chances as everyone deserves. Thanks for taking the time for to visit my page and supporting my challenge!
