We provide information sessions in a range of venues in Calderdale, aimed at promoting mental wellbeing and reducing the stigma attached to mental distress. We provide information related to a broad range of local services and recognise the wide range of factors which contribute to recovery and mental wellbeing.
Why they need our serviceOur consultation showed a clear need for accessible information for people experiencing, recovering from, or affected by mental distress. We have funding in place to provide the start of a much needed service. However, we are aware that the need far exceeds the funding we have. We want to raise funds to provide a further 10 information sessions throughout the year.
Plan and expected resultsWe are developing the service and already provide information sessions in a number of venues in Calderdale. Our monitoring form enables us to keep a record of the different areas of information need, and how this contributes to a range of well being factors. The information sessions are tailored towards different groups of people, dependent on the location and venue.
