Hensons are running 10k and climbing 3 mountains!

We have decided to climb three mountains and run 10k in order to raise much needed funds for Sunshine and Smiles to continue to the wonderful work that they do for children and young people with Down's Syndrome and their families! We first went to Sunshine and Smiles when Teagan was just a couple of weeks old - we were welcomed with open arms and have loved going ever since. Everything is family focused so we all get to enjoy activities, groups and events. Our family has enjoyed groups and parties, benefitted from speech and language sessions, additional access to Physiotherapists & OTs and help with the dreaded DLA forms. We have also made friends, shared laughs and learnt alot! The work that Sunshine and Smiles does for and with families just like ours is absolutely invaluable. At a time when government funding for resources and support is at an all time low and parents have to fight/chase/nag for the things that their children need, groups like Sunshine and Smiles are much needed. We will be doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks with a team of 12 others on the 2nd June - this is three mountains and the route is 24 miles (38.6km), and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent! We will also be running the 10k in Leeds on the 8th July. Thank you and much love The Henson family xxx
