I will be undertaking the Portuguese Camino de Santiaigo, a 260km hike from Porto to Santiago de Compostela. This will be my first solo travel trip since last year, when the cold realities of solo travelling as a woman really began to impact me and my ability to experience the sense of freedom that travelling had previously provided me with. I want to raise awareness of this issue, amongst other gendered inequalities, at the same time as regaining my confidence and power as a woman. Survivors Network is a cause close to my heart, a Brighton based charity who offer amazing support to women and have truly helped my friends and I this year. Whilst this is a challenge for myself alone, it is important to me that Survivors Network can continue their work for the multitude of women that experience trauma - and that requires money! The fight for women's equality is far from over, but just a small donation could really further this cause. You can follow my journey at hikingforsurvivors on Instagram. Thank you!
