To finish my year abroad in New Zealand I have decided complete one more challenge. I will be running the Christchurch Half Marathon on the 4th of June 2017. As a further incentive for me, I would like to help raise some money for Beacon House Ministries, which is a charity that does amazing work in my home town of Colchester.
It seems that homelessness is not discussed enough, but with over four thousand people in England alone sleeping rough every night it is still a prevalent issue. Beacon House offers support to those suffering from homelessness and those tenants most vulnerable. As well as providing temporary living spaces, Beacon House helps to get people back on their feet from every angle. They offer primary health care (including both physical and mental care), showers, food and life skills classes to get people back into work.
This incredible work is heavily reliant on charitable donations and I hope to help with this run as much as I can. So please, please donate!
