Hello friends and colleagues
I have entered myself into the 2016 dragon boat race on the 7th May which is a charity event being held by the Lord Mayor of Bradford. The Lord Mayor is fundraising this year for the Bradford Hospitals Children's Charity.
In Bradford we are currently building a new hospital wing at the Royal Infirmary. This will be completed in November this year. In the new wing there will be a dedicated new 56 bed children's unit, which will provide modern fit-for-purpose facilities.
I am part of a dedicated team who are responsible for making this happen in terms of the construction. This new build will transform children’s services and really improve the environment for young people, children, babies and their parents or carers. The trust is meeting the costs of the new building in terms of the basic essentials but the added extras that will make a hospital stay more bearable and comfortable will not be covered. This is where the Bradford Hospitals Children's Charity comes in. The charity is hoping to raise money for a variety of equipment.
I have set myself a modest target so please help ease the pain of the rowing by supporting this wonderfully cause. All the additional funds raised will help to ensure we have one of the best paediatric units in the region, and one we can be proud of!
