121 offers counselling sessions to 11-25 year olds in Hart. Young people get 50 minutes to talk about anything that is troubling them in a confidential and friendly environment. The service is free to young people, but costs us £35 per session to run. The service is dependent on donations and grants, so we need your help to expand to meet all of Harts’ needs. **NB Direct Debits appear in off line total.** It has been in the news that an estimated 1 in 10 young people have problems that are classified as mental health issues. Half the adults with long term mental health problems were first diagnosed before the age of 14, three quarters by the age of 20. 121 Youth Counselling aim to step in early, offer young people a life-line by listening to their worries and stresses, guide them to develop coping strategies that will set them up for life and start to change outcomes.
