After a consultation that ran with the community, it is our aim to install the equipment in one big swoop which will cost around £175,000 for everything that we want to do. As a small charity we have no choice but to apply for large grants from external organisations and every penny that we get from the public will help towards match funding and making our ideas a reality.
Why they need our serviceDo you know of any parks near you with disability friendly equipment? We don't! This project is an ambitious proposal to put new equipment and paths into the memorial park and make it disability friendly. We want to make sure that anyone, regardless of their disability is able to experience play and that is what this project is all about.
Plan and expected resultsThe project will result in over 80 pieces of play activities for children to use with a noticeable disability friendly roundabout, sensory equipment and paths with disability inclusive benches. It is envisaged this equipment will be in situ for 25 years once it is installed.
