Hello everyone, We are Mentoring Plus. We train and support adult volunteers to mentor 7 – 21 year olds needing extra support with family, education, emotional needs and employability. We need the help of our community to look after our young and most vulnerable. We’re proud and delighted that our volunteer mentors have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest national honour for volunteering organisations – the equivalent of an MBE. It’s well-deserved recognition of 20 years amazing, imaginative and positive community volunteering by our mentors, working one to one with children and young people every week. Since we launched in 1996, 1000's of children and young people from Bath&North East Somerset are happier, safer and more confident because of time spent with volunteers trained and supported by Mentoring Plus. It costs over 3000 pounds for a year of mentoring for a young person. This includes activity and travel expense for each mentoring session, high quality training and support for our volunteers, and our year-round activity programme. Any regular donation you can make directly benefits our young people. With 5 pounds of donation, they can enjoy drinks in a local café with a mentor. With 25 pounds they can go to a play, exhibition or sports event. With 30 pounds they can take a day trip to somewhere new. With 250 pounds an inspirational activity can be held. With 3000 pounds, a whole year of mentoring and activities for one young person can be accomplished. Children and Young people are our greatest treasure and our future.
